  • Build trusting and caring relationships with customers, understanding and engaging with them to the fullest, and anticipating their needs to provide related information and support.
  • Utilize the customer service threshold framework to make financial decisions and resolve member issues, and educate customers on various elements of benefit plan information and available services.
  • Take ownership of each customer contact, resolving issues and connecting them with additional services as appropriate, and identify member needs beyond the initial inquiry by answering unasked questions.
  • Respond quickly to meet customer needs and resolve problems, avoiding over-committing, and provide education to members to support them in managing their health.
  • Process claim referrals, new claim hand-offs, and escalate issues as appropriate through the system for grievances and appeals, and initiate out-reach/welcome calls to ensure constituent expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Partner with other departments to deliver client-specific presentations, and coordinate efforts internally and across departments to resolve service issues and develop process improvements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a world-class customer experience, seeking to understand customer circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs, and asking probing questions to identify underlying customer needs.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Customer Service experience in a transaction-based environment, such as a call center or retail location, preferred, demonstrating the ability to be empathetic and compassionate.
