Job Overview

We are seeking an accomplished, compassionate, and quality-centered Data Engineering Manager to lead the information designing and disseminated computing efforts within our Data Analysis team. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the development, quality, and integrity of our data pipelines, which deliver a diverse set of data types to other engineering teams at arenaflex. Your expertise will have a significant impact on the entire arenaflex software organization, ultimately helping us to improve, form, and deliver products that consistently delight our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of large-scale data applications and pipelines, as well as distributed computing services and supporting applications
  • Drive the advancement of our big data applications and pipelines, ensuring the highest level of quality, integrity, and performance
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including business and technical groups, to deliver insights that inform product strategies across software and hardware development
  • Mentor and guide experienced engineers, providing technical leadership and expertise to enable and motivate the team to deliver their best
  • Architect, build, and maintain complex, multi-component big data systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency
  • Work closely with the team to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions that meet business requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Master-level experience with data engineering tools and technologies, processes, objectives, and philosophies
  • Master-level experience with at least two of the following languages and related development tools: Python, Ruby, Java, Scala, Swift, Objective C
  • Experience with at least one of the following platforms: HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Impala, Kafka, HBase, MapReduce, Kubernetes, Item Store, Flink
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performance software teams, with a strong sense of pride in the development cycle and a willingness to drive the team towards continuous code, application, and process improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure
  • Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts and techniques
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
