[Remote] Mortgage Underwriter (Remote eligible AK, WA, AZ)

They are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Underwriter to evaluate and ensure the quality of the mortgage loan portfolio by underwriting various mortgage products including conventional, FHA, USDA, and VA loans. Responsibilities • Underwrite all types of mortgage loans and review investor overlays to ensure salability • Underwrite internal consumer real estate loans to include HELOC, closed-end HE loans and residential lot loans • Work with origination and processing staff to answer questions regarding conditions and other general loan questions Skills • Three to five years of similar or related experience to include DE and/or LAPP designations • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Experience analyzing business financial statements and assessing the viability of business • Ability to function in a role that demands a high degree of discretion, trust and diplomacy • Experience in Encompass strongly preferred Benefits • Health Insurance • 401k • Holidays • A generous PTO plan Company Overview • True North Federal Credit Union is dedicated to your financial well-being while providing convenient access to valuable products and services.
