Pediatric General Surgery Coder
Job Description:
• Review clinical documentation to assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes
• Validate APC calculations to capture diagnoses/procedures appropriately
• Abstract clinical data to meet regulatory and compliance requirements
• Maintain patient and provider confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA Guidelines
• Participate in client and Savista staff meetings and trainings
Requirements:
• An active AHIMA credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA) or AAPC credential (COC, CCS-P, CPC)
• Two years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS code sets
• Ability to consistently code at 95% threshold for quality
• Proficient computer knowledge including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
