Lead Counsel - Data Privacy (REMOTE)

In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping the approach to data privacy and cybersecurity in a fast-evolving fintech landscape. As a member of a dedicated legal team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that not only meet regulatory expectations but also drive innovative practices. Your expertise in privacy and data governance will help guide the organization towards a future of enhanced financial services, empowering individuals and companies alike. You will have the opportunity to lead educational initiatives internally and refine policies that ensure compliance amidst changing regulations. Accountabilities • Advise on legal areas regarding privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance. • Provide solutions-oriented counsel on AI/ML, data privacy, and cybersecurity. • Monitor developments in privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance laws. • Drive internal training on data protection and compliance obligations. • Develop and refine cybersecurity and data privacy policies. Requirements • 6+ years of experience as a practicing lawyer in privacy issues. • Experience in providing solutions-focused legal advice. • Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset. • Deep knowledge of data privacy laws (e.g., GLBA, CCPA). • Experience with governance reviews in privacy and AI. • Preferred experience in payments or credit reporting sectors.
