Project Manager - IDEA APR Support Team :: Remote
Position Summary
The Tennessee Department of Education seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to support the IDEA Annual Performance Report (APR) Support Team. This role focuses on producing high-quality resources, creating presentations, copy editing team communications, and maintaining accurate tracking systems to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
• Project & Task Management: Manage multiple priorities, monitor deadlines, and maintain progress tracking for IDEA APR deliverables.
• Data Report Development: Create and format reports and resources using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, incorporating quantitative and qualitative data to inform clear narratives.
• Presentations & Visuals: Develop polished presentations and infographics (charts, tables, dashboards) that communicate IDEA performance trends in an engaging and accessible way.
• Editing & Quality Review: Copy edit and proofread reports, presentations, and communications to ensure accuracy, consistency, and professional tone; confirm final products meet accessibility requirements.
• Mail Merge & Communications: Prepare mass communications or standardized reports using mail merge in Microsoft Word or other platforms.
• Tracking & Compliance Support: Maintain internal logs for reports, deadlines, revisions, and follow-up actions; assist with tracking required LEA actions related to IDEA APR requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with team members and leadership, responding promptly to direction and feedback to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Qualifications
• Associate or bachelor's degree in education, business administration, communications, or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in administrative support, project coordination, or reporting.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and track progress of action items.
• Strong copy editing and proofreading skills with attention to grammar, tone, and formatting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including mail merge and the ability to create charts, tables, and infographics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail in editing, formatting, and verifying data accuracy.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and adapt to feedback.
Preferred
• Familiarity with IDEA, APR indicators, or special education terminology.
• Experience designing visual resources such as charts, tables, or infographics.
• Experience creating accessible documents and converting materials into PDF format.
