Social Media Strategist & Content Creator Position: Social Media Strategist & Content Creator Subsidiary: CHD Films Division: Programs Department: CHD-TV Location: Remote Reports to: Director of CHD-TV Direct Reports: None Employment Status: Exempt Pay Type: Salary Schedule: Full-time Pay Grade/Range: $70k - $80K Travel: <10% Department Overview: CHD-TV proudly serves as the news media production branch of Children’s Health Defense. We provide a health freedom video platform keeping our audience tapped into the latest daily news in the movement. Position Overview: The Social Media Strategist & Content Creator is responsible for assisting the Director of CHD-TV, in the growth and engagement of CHD-TV’s audience across social platforms. This role combines strategy, editorial decision-making, video editing, content publishing, and community interaction, turning long-form interviews and livestreams into compelling, mission-driven social media content. Responsibilities: • Develop and execute platform-specific social media strategies that support CHD-TV programming, campaigns, and audience growth goals • Identify key moments from long-form content and transform them into high-performing short-form content, including rapid-turn edits for breaking or timely content • Optimize video content for social platforms, including clipping, editing, and repurposing livestream and broadcast content • Add captions and light graphics as needed, including branding, to ensure accessibility, engagement, and consistent visual quality • Research and implement emerging social media trends, platform updates, and new content formats relevant to advocacy and news media • Work closely with CHD-TV Director to align content messaging, timing, and promotional campaigns • Maintain consistency in editorial voice, brand identity, and visual presentation across all social platforms • Write engaging, platform-appropriate captions, headlines, and post copy • Schedule and publish content across social platforms • Manage social media content calendars to maintain a steady flow of posts aligned with programming priorities • Develop audience engagement strategies by monitoring comments, replies, and messages; moderate as needed and flag notable feedback or issues to leadership while engaging consistently to support audience growth and interaction • Track key performance metrics (reach, engagement, audience growth, clip performance) • In collaboration with the Director of CHD-TV, use data insights to refine content strategy, posting cadence, and formats • Collaborate with the CHD Marketing team as needed • Test new formats, posting times, and messaging approaches to continuously improve performance Requirements: • 2–5 years of professional experience in social media, digital content, or media production • Demonstrated experience developing and executing successful social media campaigns • Strong video editing skills • Strong writing and editorial judgment, especially for social media hooks, captions, and headlines • Strong understanding of platform best practices (Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Substack, etc.) • Basic graphic design or motion graphics skills • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven media environment • Proficiency in Google Workplace and Microsoft Office Suite • Experience with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Google Analytics) • Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms • Proficient in content management and social media management tools • Solid knowledge of SEO and keyword search • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team DESIRED • Experience managing high-volume posting or rapid-response content • Experience with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for the following benefits, where applicable: • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • Supplemental benefits through Aflac • Retirement plan participation • Paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and holidays • Life insurance • Employee assistance programs • Professional development opportunities Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements and plan terms and may be modified by the organization.
