**Key Responsibilities:**
* Provide fast, friendly service to customers, actively seeking out their needs and providing assistance to sell entire projects
* Learn about products using arenaflex tools and provide information to customers to drive sales growth
* Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department, while maintaining a strong understanding of adjacent departments
* Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring a clean, shop-able, and safe environment for customers and associates
* Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
* Work in cooperation with Department Supervisors and other associates in your department and other departments to achieve common goals
* Participate in sales promotions, events, and initiatives to drive sales growth and customer engagement
**Specific Department Responsibilities:**
* Building Materials: Assist customers in selecting and purchasing building materials, including lumber, drywall, and roofing materials
* Décor: Provide expert advice on interior design and decorating, including furniture, lighting, and accessories
* Electrical: Assist customers in selecting and purchasing electrical products, including lighting, electrical panels, and circuit breakers
* Flooring: Help customers select and purchase flooring materials, including hardwood, carpet, and tile
* Garden: Assist customers in selecting and purchasing gardening products, including plants, fertilizers, and gardening tools
* Hardware: Provide expert advice on hardware products, including tools, fasteners, and building materials
* Kitchen & Bath: Assist customers in selecting and purchasing kitchen and bath products, including fixtures, appliances, and cabinets
* Lumber: Assist customers in selecting and purchasing lumber products, including dimensional lumber and plywood
* Millwork: Provide expert advice on millwork products, including cabinets, doors, and windows
* Paint: Assist customers in selecting and purchasing paint products, including interior and exterior paints, stains, and finishes
* Plumbing: Assist customers in selecting and purchasing plumbing products, including fixtures, pipes, and fittings
* Tool Rental: Assist customers in selecting and renting tools and equipment, including power tools and hand tools
**Types of Customer Service/Sales Positions:**
* Department Sales: Focus on selling products within a specific department, such as Building Materials or Décor
* Lead Generator: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, driving growth and revenue for arenaflex
* Pro Account Sales: Develop and maintain relationships with professional customers, including contractors and builders
* Sales Specialist: Provide expert advice and guidance to customers on specific products or categories
* Special Services: Assist customers with special requests, including custom orders and installations
* Customer Order Specialist: Process customer orders, ensuring accurate and timely fulfillment
**Essential Qualifications:**
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
* 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience, preferably in a retail or construction-related industry
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, associates, and management
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on customer satisfaction and sales growth
* Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
