Most courts no longer allow remote appearances (or do so only with advanced permission based on good cause from the attorney). The attorney will be assigned new cases and will be giving introductory calls to them, and returning calls to other clients. The attorney will also schedule time with clients to discuss (over the phone), the pending DMV hearing, what the discovery shows and the arguments that can be made. The firm will reputed company the attorney with a laptop; printer; cell phone; and office supplies that they need to do the job. They will have a paralegal to assist them (though the paralegal is located in Encino).
