Summer 2026 Undergraduate Graphic Design Intern, Communications Department
About the position
The ACLU seeks an Undergraduate Graphic Design Intern in the Communications Department of the ACLU’s National office in New York, NY. This internship will be remote.
Qualifying applicants must currently be matriculated undergraduate students or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience and must be based in the U.S. for the entire duration of the internship.
The Team:
The Comms Team is responsible for promoting the ACLU’s mission, its brand and its programs through multi-faceted campaigns, digital communications, publications and digital platforms.
What You’ll Do:
The Graphic Design intern will be responsible for a variety of branding and key issue projects including supporting the organization’s digital asset management, the production of printed materials for a variety of purposes as well as graphics for the ACLU web site(s), multimedia and social media channels.
Responsibilities
• Website and multimedia graphics and design collateral
• Social media promotional design; memes
• Online advertising design support; buttons, banners
• Print project support
• Creative process coordination as directed by Digital Design lead
Requirements
• Digital design and/or print experience on Mac (PC okay)
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
Nice-to-haves
• Premiere, After Effects or video editing skills welcome
Benefits
• A stipend is available for students who are lawfully authorized to work. Arrangements can be made with educational institutions for work/study or course credit.
• $20/hr for undergraduate students or equivalent experience
