Remote Senior Cost Accountant

This role will have a significant impact on the financial health of the organization by overseeing the management of cost accounting. You will be responsible for producing reliable management accounts, analyzing cost variances, and supporting budget holders with insightful financial information. Operating across multiple countries, your collaboration with local accountants will ensure comprehensive financial oversight. This position also involves managing the purchase process and working closely with various stakeholders to enhance financial accountability and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Accountabilities • Prepare robust management accounts compliant with local GAAP. • Reconcile balance sheet and profit and loss accounts. • Investigate and explain cost variances and trends. • Manage the full purchasing process from order to payment. • Oversee payroll preparation and track staff costs. • Coordinate with external accountants and auditors. • Support cash-flow forecasting and budgeting processes. • Train and motivate an assistant accounting staff member. Requirements • Qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA preferred) with 4+ years’ PQE. • Experience preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations. • Ability to manage and mentor junior staff. • Knowledge of payroll processes and compliance. • Strong technical accounting skills, including consolidation. • Experience with Big 4 firms is highly preferred. • Advanced Excel skills and ability to work under pressure.
