The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Valuation Analyst Intern from a Minnesota college or university to join our team. This is a remote position with periodic on-site training sessions. You will work directly alongside our credentialed appraisers, gaining hands-on experience in business valuation while utilizing cutting-edge AI tools to streamline financial analysis and reporting.
This internship is ideal for accounting or finance undergraduates who want real-world exposure to professional valuation work, including financial modeling, market research, and engagement support. You'll build skills that translate directly to careers in valuation, corporate finance, investment banking, public accounting, and beyond.
What You'll Do
• Assist appraisers in reviewing, organizing, and analyzing client financial documents including tax returns, financial statements, and general ledgers
• Utilize AI-powered tools to input and structure financial data into proprietary valuation models and templates
• Conduct industry and market research using professional databases and public sources to support valuation conclusions
• Pull and compile comparable company and transaction data for market approach analyses
• Help prepare calculation and conclusion of value reports in compliance with NACVA and USPAP standards
• Perform preliminary financial analysis including ratio analysis, trend analysis, and normalization adjustments
• Support quality control processes by reviewing reports for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
• Participate in on-site training sessions to learn valuation theory, methodology, and firm processes
• Assist with administrative and research tasks as needed to support ongoing engagements
Qualifications
Required
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field at a Minnesota college or university
• Completed or currently enrolled in intermediate-level accounting or finance coursework
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
• Junior or Senior standing (anticipated graduation within 12–18 months)
• Coursework or interest in business valuation, corporate finance, or financial statement analysis
• Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar platforms for data analysis and productivity
• Experience with Business Tax Returns and Financial Statements
• Interest in pursuing professional credentials such as CVA, CPA, CFA, or ASA
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
