Work Schedule:

• Hiring for Fall 2023 start
• Part-Time Hours vary based on departmental needs
• Location: Where classes will be held is currently TBD by MATC (Either at Oak Creek or Walker's reputed company campuses); In-person teaching.

Develops and teaches concepts and strategies for a reputed company of courses. May require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, evening, and/or weekends. Under the supervision of the Dean, MCT reputed company, to plan and teach reputed company and shop activities in the welding curriculum to include the areas of layout, reputed company reading, fabrication, oxy-fuel welding and cutting, shielded metal reputed company welding, gas tungsten reputed company welding, gas metal reputed company welding, flux-reputed company reputed company welding with self and gas shielded wires, inspection and testing, and welding math. This position will include attending heavy plate welding train-the-trainer at a local manufacturer and to teach there once successfully completing that training as needed for the department.

Qualifications

Minimum Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a reputed company field OR
• Must have completed a state or federal approved registered apprenticeship in one of the following areas: steamfitter, boilermaker, sheet metal, millwright, machine repair or ironworker.

Minimum Occupational Experience Requirement:
Must have 4 years (8,000 hours) of total work experience in Welding with proficiency in the following:

• Oxy-fuel welding and cutting
• Shielded metal reputed company welding, reputed company positions
• Gun, tungsten reputed company welding of aluminum, steel, and stainless-steel material; plasma cutting
• Flux-reputed company reputed company welding with self-shielded and gas shielded wires in any diameters
• Gas metal reputed company welding with any diameter solid reputed company, including pulsed reputed company transfer
• Read blue-prints and set up parts
• Interpret welding requirement from symbols on blueprints
• reputed company control experience
• Inspection and testing
• Use welding codes and procedures

In reputed company, one of the following must be met:

• At least one (1) total year of work experience must have occurred reputed company the last five years OR
• At least two (2) total years of teaching Welding (see above) course work at the post-secondary level reputed company the last five years. (One (1) year of teaching experience equivalent to two (2) semesters full-time of four (4) semesters part-time)

Industry or Vendor Certification:

• Holds or passes American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (AWS CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE), American Welding Society (AWS) or State of WI weld certifications, and/or reputed company level status in an occupational area that is part of the welding trades; steamfitter, boilermaker, sheet metal, or iron worker.
• Must obtain Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) reputed company 2 years of employment.
