Our stores are more than just places to pick up prescriptions—they’re vibrant health hubs where compassionate professionals guide patients toward better well‑being every day. As a leading pharmacy retailer, arenaflex invests in cutting‑edge technology, continuous staff development, and a culture that celebrates proactive service. If you’re passionate about helping others, thrive in a fast‑paced retail environment, and have an eye for detail, this is your chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of Brooklyn residents.

Why This Role Matters

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate is the first point of contact for patients walking into our Brooklyn location. You will be the trusted advisor who ensures prescriptions are filled accurately, medication questions are answered promptly, and every customer leaves feeling cared for. Your role directly supports arenaflex’s mission to provide reliable, patient‑centered pharmacy care while upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction: Greet patients warmly, assess their needs, and provide clear guidance on prescription pick‑up, over‑the‑counter products, and health‑related queries.
  • Prescription Verification: Review prescription details, verify patient information, and ensure all medication orders are accurately entered into our pharmacy system.
  • Medication Counseling: Educate customers on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and storage recommendations while adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
  • Proactive Service: Identify opportunities to assist customers before they ask—such as reminding them of refill dates, suggesting relevant health products, or offering wellness tips.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain a clean, organized work area; manage inventory levels; process insurance claims; and reconcile cash drawers at shift end.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with licensed pharmacists, technicians, and fellow associates to resolve complex medication issues and ensure seamless workflow.
  • Compliance & Safety: Follow all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations; uphold arenaflex’s privacy standards; and participate in regular safety audits.
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage arenaflex’s proprietary pharmacy software, barcode scanners, and point‑of‑sale systems to streamline operations and minimize errors.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in local health fairs, vaccination drives, and educational workshops hosted by arenaflex to strengthen community ties.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; additional coursework in healthcare, pharmacy, or related fields is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of retail or customer‑service experience, preferably within a pharmacy or health‑care setting.
  • Strong mathematical skills for accurate prescription calculations, insurance billing, and cash handling.
  • Exceptional communication abilities—both verbal and written—to convey complex information in a clear, empathetic manner.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and a commitment to error‑free medication dispensing.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and navigate a busy retail environment.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications; prior experience with pharmacy software is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet store needs.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Certification such as Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or enrollment in a pharmacy technician program.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for protecting patient confidentiality.
  • Experience handling insurance claim submissions and resolving denials.
  • Fluency in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin) to better serve Brooklyn’s diverse population.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast‑changing environments while maintaining composure and professionalism.
  • Passion for continuous learning in pharmaceutical advancements and retail health trends.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Prioritize the patient experience, anticipate needs, and resolve issues with a smile.
  • Analytical Thinking: Quickly assess prescription details, identify potential drug interactions, and verify dosage accuracy.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate openly with pharmacists, technicians, and store managers to maintain a harmonious workflow.
  • Adaptability: Embrace new technologies, updated protocols, and evolving retail demands without losing focus.
  • Integrity & Trustworthiness: Handle sensitive health information responsibly and adhere strictly to ethical standards.
