Senior Clinical Pharmacist- Express Scripts Encore Program-This position is available for Retirees of The Cigna Group JOB SUMMARY The Senior Clinical Pharmacist will be a pharmacist aligned to support the Pharmacy Practice clinical technology organization. The pharmacist in this role will provide Pharmacy Practice input while working various stakeholders including Account Management, Legal and Compliance Partners. Responsible for coordination of drug recalls across Evernorth pharmacies as well as Pharmacy Practice guidance on temperature sensitive drug product handling. The position requires regular communication with cross-functional areas to meet deadlines, including IT, Operations, and Service Delivery. The ability to communicate requests, status, and issues effectively with clients, management and cross functional areas is essential. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Assist pharmacists trained to handle drug recalls. • Train additional pharmacists to handle drug recalls. • Support administrative duties for handling recalls and train another pharmacist in this role. • Review drug excursions for any temperature sensitive drug product. • Evaluate cold chain comparative testing for any new supplies or packaging material. • Share initiatives and status updates to Practice leadership and regulatory affairs for approval and maintain awareness of potential risk. • Completes special projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: • BS or PharmD in Pharmacy • Active Licensed Pharmacist in state of residence. • At least 5 years’ experience in home delivery/specialty pharmacy. • Proficiency with Microsoft suite products: Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint creation. • Must be proficient in bi-query OR extracting data out of our systems. • Must have a working knowledge of our internal Pharmacy systems. • Proficiency in database creation and maintenance preferred. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work a flexible schedule (primarily M-F). • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline driven, and dynamic environment. • Strong analytical skills with an ability to analyze processes and make recommendations for improvements. • Able to determine next steps and actions concisely and communicate in a way that drives clarity.
