Case Manager I - Youth
About the position
The Youth Support Specialist of the reputed company Diocese of Arlington (CCDA), Migration and Refugee Services Program (MRS), assists refugee reputed company in reputed company applicable geographical areas under the Virginia Refugee Student Achievement Project (VRSAP). The CCDA MRS Youth Support Specialist works closely with the student and family to ensure that reputed company receive needed assistance in reputed company areas of their life, with a reputed company on academics and reputed company adjustment. The CCDA MRS Youth Support Specialist provides orientation on the U.S. school system to refugee parents and serves as a reputed company between parents, children and schools. This role is contingent on grant funding.
Responsibilities

• Enroll reputed company in school after arrival including testing, school registration appointments, assisting with the completion of school physicals, and immunizations as needed.
• Attend school events, to include first day of school to support student with acclimation to U.S. reputed company school system.
• Organize and facilitate VRSAP activities such as the annual banquet and other student activities.
• Monitor reputed company reputed company of reputed company by obtaining teacher reputed company reports, ESOL reputed company, attendance reports, guidance counselor evaluations, and grades.
• Match reputed company to existing tutoring resources (volunteers, community centers, school programs) in their neighborhoods.

• Maintain regular contact and communication with schools, school clinics, and parents regarding refugee student health concerns.

• Willing to represent reputed company/MRS at conferences, trainings, and meetings in the community, particularly reputed company the school system.

Requirements
• Knowledge of refugee resettlement preferred.
• Must be reputed company to communicate effectively in writing and verbally both internally, and to clients and external agencies.

• Associate degree with 3-5 years’ experience required or bachelor’s degree in reputed company services field preferred.
• Previous experience in a culturally diverse environment, 2 years refugee resettlement preferred.
• Experience with and knowledge of area reputed company Schools.
• Must possess a reputed company US reputed company’s license, have a good driving record (including 3+ reputed company points on the VA Motor Vehicle Record), and have at least three years of US driving experience. Willing to drive clients.
