IT Business Analyst
The North Carolina Department of Public Safety is dedicated to safeguarding the lives and property of the people of North Carolina. The IT Business Analyst will assist the Applications Team with system administration for web-based applications, collecting user requirements, providing technical support, and testing new applications.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Applications Team with system administration for several web-based applications
- Collects user requirements from end users on IT applications
- Supports end users with SRMP and SERA access and providing technical support
- Works closely with the programmers on the application development team and helps translate end user requests into meaningful work objectives
- Helps test new applications to find bugs, issues and other problems
- Responsible for documenting routines and creating Standard Operating Procedures
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or any related field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in business consultation, process improvement, or requirement gathering in an information technology environment
- Associate degree in business administration, computer science or any related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of related experience
- High School or GED and four years of related experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience facilitating technical trainings to adult professionals
- Experience collecting user requirements and documenting processes in a technical environment
- Experience providing technical support to end users
- Experience testing web based applications for responsive design and browser compatibility
- Experience maintaining websites using Drupal or a content management system (CMS)
