Application Engineer I - Tech Support

The Application Engineer provides technical support and training for product applications while collaborating with sales teams and customers to resolve complex issues and improve processes.


Responsibilities

  • Aid product support team on technical support via phone and e-mail for both internal and external salespeople in the areas of product selection and application
  • Develop and communicate solutions for basic product applications under direct supervision
  • Gather information and provide resolution to complex field problems
  • May include travel for onsite support
  • Understand and interpret industry codes and standards to determine product needs and requirements
  • Assist with highlighting and communicating key selling points of our current products for delivery to our sales teams and customers
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and work to implement where applicable
  • Become familiar with the competitor's products and apply this knowledge to the company's advantage
  • Organize and present trainings to internal and external customers both onsite and offsite
  • May assist with offsite events including planning, set-up, and basic customer interactions
  • Develop awareness of industry related associations and their purpose
  • May provide mentoring, training, indirect supervision of other team members, or may have direct reports
  • Basic understanding of rep network and sales channel
  • Manage basic individual projects in accordance with predetermined completion dates
  • Document service calls to record data on product questions and field issues

Skills

  • 4 Year / bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent years of work experience required
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience in engineering required
