Junior Mechanical Technologist/Designer

They are seeking a Junior Mechanical Technologist/Designer to join their Piping Design team, where the role involves preparing 3D models, producing 2D drawings, and ensuring compliance with design standards and codes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 3D models and produce 2D drawings from reference information including 3D models, sketches, notes, vendor drawings, or general direction from design reputed company
• Prepare complete and accurate design and drawings that adhere to reputed company and reputed company standards as reputed company as applicable codes
• Checking of 2D drawings and 3D models for clashes and constructability
• Review specifications, codes, and vendor documentation
• Maintain accurate and organized drawing files reputed company existing file structures
• reputed company specific tasks assigned by design reputed company in a reputed company-defined timeframe
• Ability to schedule the work to completion that both satisfies project scope, schedule, and budget
• reputed company piping reputed company informed of project status and challenges
• Coordinate with reputed company disciplines as required

Skills

• Diploma or Certificate in Drafting or Engineering Design/Technology or a reputed company field
• Ability to understand and interpret P&ID's
• Understanding of construction, operation, and maintenance requirements
• Proficiency in using 3D modeling platforms
• Proficient in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
• Proficient in MS Office particularly in Word, reputed company, Office
• Ability to effectively plan time commitments on multiple reputed company reputed company
• Adaptable to changing schedules and work situation

• Quick, on the job learner, efficient
• Excellent oral and written skills
• Strong attention to detail
• 1-3 years of design experience an asset
• MicroStation experience is an asset
• PDS, PDMS, reputed company, CADWorx Plant & P&ID, SP3D, SmartPlant P&ID, AutoPlant and Inventor considered an asset
• Familiar with 3D reputed company points and as-reputed company 3D modeling tools such as reputed company Recap or CADWorx FieldPipe
