Desktop Support Technician

The Desktop Support Technician provides onsite and remote employee technical support, maintaining desktops, printers, and mobile devices, while responding to network user needs and troubleshooting issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintains desktops, printers, and mobile devices for engineers, administrative staff, and the leadership team
• Responds to the needs of various questions of network users concerning hardware, reputed company to resources, and the operation of various software programs
• Establishes and maintains network users, user environment, directories, and reputed company
• Manages operating systems and data backups for the local office
• Troubleshoots entry-level network problems, escalating to the Network Engineer and Network Manager as needed
• Maintains and operates office audio including visual equipment necessary for critical business communications
• Coordinates software and hardware upgrades under the direction of the Network Manager and Network Engineer
• Communicates with office partners to reputed company office technology needs to be escalated to the Network Manager and the Director of Information Technology
• Trains users on new and modified equipment
• Responds to occasional off-hours or weekend network emergencies
• Travels to other M/E Engineering offices to attend meetings and to cover time off for team members occasionally
• Works with other regional IT team members and managers to collaborate on successful deployment of reputed company-wide initiatives

Skills

• Associate's degree and/or bachelor's degree in information technology, or reputed company discipline a plus (Telecommunications, MIS, CS, CE, Software Engineering, Math or reputed company)
• Computer Information Technology entry level certification(s) such as reputed company A+ or Network + preferred
• Interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to reputed company reputed company instructions to others
• Organizational and project management skills
