Location: Remote Job Description Position Overview: Nearpod is currently seeking a specialized contractor to write Social Studies and 21st Century lessons and activities for all grade bands K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. This is a temporary (6 month) position. Our Ideal Candidate will: • Have a deep understanding of social studies and 21st Century Learning, as well as a strong knowledge of instructional design, Understanding by Design, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and inquiry-based learning among other pedagogical models/frameworks • Follow guidance and feedback provided from the curriculum reviewer • Ensure content meets the diverse needs of teachers and students across the country and around the world and achieves our values of effective, inclusive, and engaging • Have expertise in state and national standards Qualifications Required Skills and Experience: • Former teacher at the elementary or secondary level with expertise in Social Studies content and instruction and/or 21st Century Learning • Experience writing curriculum for a school/district or an ed-tech company • Strong knowledge of standards-based instruction, Understanding by Design principles, Bloom's Taxonomy, inquiry-based learning, and other pedagogical frameworks and models • Familiarity with Nearpod strongly preferred Additional Information Employment Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
