Job Description
The Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans (SACNAS) is the largest multicultural and multidisciplinary STEM diversity organization in the country. The Marketing & Graphic Design Assistant is a position within the SACNAS Development and Communications Department that focuses on website editing, social media and digital marketing, and graphic design to support year-round events, including the SACNAS Annual Conference. This is a temporary part-time contract position, which can be performed remotely, and reports to the Manager, Marketing & Communications.
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1-3 years’ work experience.
• Outreach experience working with undergraduate students, graduates, administrators, and faculty members from backgrounds currently underrepresented in STEM is desired.
Critical Skills, Qualities, and Abilities
• Strong commitment to and alignment with the SACNAS mission.
• Proficiency in graphic design tools, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Canva.
• Basic experience with website content updates (HubSpot, WordPress or similar platforms preferred).
• Video editing skills are a plus (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Canva video editing, CapCut or similar tools).
• Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube).
• HubSpot and Smartsheet experience is a plus, but training will be provided.
• Attention to detail in branding, layout, and typography.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Self-motivated and creative problem-solver with a proactive approach.
• Willingness to embrace feedback and continuously refine creative work.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Docs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle shifting priorities.
• Availability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.

Salary
Salary Range: $20/hour DOE. The actual compensation offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
