Cenikor is a non-profit organization and one of the largest substance use treatment centers in the nation. We are currently seeking a Contract Remote Counselor in Houston, TX.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide telehealth services to individuals seeking addiction treatment services in our inpatient treatment facilities. Support clients in developing the skills necessary to live a life free from substance dependence.

SCHEDULE: hours vary based on need

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Work with a diverse group of clients to develop and implement an individualized, written treatment plan.

Provide individual counseling services to each client as scheduled.

Conduct chemical dependency counseling sessions and educational sessions as scheduled.

Ensure documentation in the clinical record is legible and complies with documentation standards.

Communicate with facility leadership as needed to ensure consistent client care and support of clinical services.

Communicate with Director any issues with client or facility contacts.

Maintain compliance with federal and state regulatory standards as well as policies and procedures.

Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and foundation matters and refer questionable issues to Director.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Experienced and/or knowledgeable in providing education and therapeutic counseling (individual and group formats) for adults and adolescents

Experienced in providing clinical treatment via telehealth services

Experienced and capable of identifying appropriate resources for client development and providing substance use counseling

Ability to learn and adapt to new technology platforms quickly

Possesses good oral and written communication skills

Experienced in working with diverse population

Possesses good time management skills needed to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks

Patience, perseverance, and resilience in a challenging environment

Presents a professional, positive image

Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required, including MS Outlook calendar and MS Teams.

Education:
  • Masters Degree required
Experience:

Two (2) years of substance use treatment experience required

Experience with electronic health record system required

Experience with zoom or other video communication platform for telehealth services required

Licensure Required:
  • LPC/LCSW Required
