Accountant – National Accounts
Toyota Material Handling is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accountant - National Accounts to support accounting, inventory, and financial reporting activities for their National Accounts subsidiary. In this role, you will be responsible for month-end close execution, inventory accounting, and financial analysis while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute month-end closing activities, including preparation of standard and non-standard journal entries, inventory, sales, and revenue reports, and general ledger accuracy
- Lead inventory accounting processes, including standard costing, transaction analysis, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Support physical inventory counts and cycle counting programs to ensure inventory integrity
- Prepare, analyze, and communicate financial data and reports to support management decision-making
- Partner with internal teams and external dealers/companies to resolve billing, invoicing, receiving, and statement discrepancies
- Develop, improve, and maintain standard work documentation, leveraging Toyota Production System (TPS) concepts to improve efficiency and reduce defects
- Provide problem-solving support for non-standard accounting and inventory issues
- Support audits, ad-hoc analyses, and special projects as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy and data integrity
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and dependability in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and computer skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions
- Previous accounting/finance experience
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Prior experience using SAP or comparable ERP systems
- CPA, CMA or CFA
