We are seeking a consultative, technically minded Sales Engineer to grow and support an established territory covering West Virginia and bordering counties of Ohio and Kentucky. This role is responsible for selling process measurement, data acquisition, and automation solutions to customers in the chemical, metals, power generation, coal, natural gas, and other manufacturing industries.
This is a relationship-driven sales role focused on plant-level engagement with engineers, maintenance leaders and plant managers. The territory includes both existing and new accounts with significant growth opportunity.
If you are comfortable walking into a plant engineering office, maintenance shop, or production area discussing measurement and process control challenges with plant staff, and developing solutions, this role may be a strong fit.
The headquarters of Gilson is located in Pittsburgh, PA; however, this is a remote position within the assigned territory of West Virginia and bordering counties in Ohio and Kentucky. The ideal candidate resides in Southern West Virginia to effectively support customers and manage the territory.
Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
Manage and grow an established industrial territory (Southern WV, SE OH, SE KY)
Develop new business within the manufacturing and energy industries
Call on plant managers, engineers, maintenance leaders, and procurement teams
Conduct plant visits, technical presentations, and product demonstrations
Maintain CRM activity and forecast pipeline
Travel approximately 40–60% within territory
What Success Looks Like:
Consistent revenue growth within existing accounts
Development of new active accounts each year
Strong, multi-level relationships within key customer facilities
A healthy pipeline that supports sustained territory growth
What we are looking for:
Required:
3+ years of industrial B2B sales experience
Experience calling on heavy industrial or process manufacturing facilities
Ability to understand and discuss technical products and applications
Strong relationship-building and communication skills
Willingness to travel throughout the territory
Preferred:
Experience selling instrumentation, process equipment, or capital equipment
Industry or technical background
Engineering education or strong technical aptitude

Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 (experience dependent)
Commission plan with target total comp of $180,000 +
