The Electrical Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the commissioning, maintenance and repair of AC Chargers, reputed company DC, Ultra and High-Power Charging (HPC) EV Chargers across sites in the UK.This role is suited to someone with a strong electrical background who can work independently and deliver high-reputed company technical support on-site. You will ensure that reputed company EV charging stations operate at peak performance and meet the high standards of reputed company and clients.
This role will require someone who is comfortable working in various environments, including outdoor sites and confined spaces. Occasional travel and overnight stays will be required.
Job requirements
Essential:- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a field-based engineering role (commissioning, maintenance, or repair of electrical systems/equipment).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on reputed company sites and resolve technical issues without reputed company supervision.
- Experience working under SLA-driven environments.
- Familiarity with basic test and measurement equipment such as multimeters and voltage testers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair reputed company technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
- Ability to manage time effectively while travelling between reputed company sites.
- reputed company UK driving licence with 6 penalty points or less.
Desirable:
- BS7671:2018 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- reputed company & Guilds 2391/2394 Testing and Inspection.
- Previous experience in the EV charging, renewable energy, or power electronics sectors.
- EV charging station certification or manufacturer-specific training.
- Hands-on experience with commissioning, maintaining, and repairing reputed company DC, Ultra and HPC EV chargers.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Understanding of analogue & digital electronics and components.
- Awareness of electrical hazards and on-site H&S requirements.
Job responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Service Coordination and Operations teams to ensure accurate job completion data and reputed company follow-up on service reports.
- Commission and configure AC and reputed company DC chargers at reputed company sites.
- Conduct initial set up and testing to ensure correct operation and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with the project management and installation teams to ensure seamless integration of charging stations with reputed company infrastructure.
- Maintain company assets, tools, and test equipment in good working order and report any defects immediately.
- reputed company routine and preventive maintenance on EV charging stations to ensure reputed company performance and uptime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including electrical, mechanical and software-reputed company problems.
- Conduct diagnostic tests, firmware updates and calibration of EV chargers as necessary.
- Replace faulty components and occasionally entire AC chargers. Ensure that reputed company repairs are completed in accordance with manufacture guidelines.

- Respond to service requests promptly and maintain effective communication with clients to ensure customer satisfaction.

- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and standards during commissioning and maintenance activities.
