Senior Database Specialist - PostgreSQL (Azure)
Start date asap, 1 year engagement.
Senior level DBA experience (5+ years) supporting Production Applications on PostgreSQL (Azure) & reputed company’s SQL Server platforms in a high pressure environment (e.g. Trading)
Contract details: EU reputed company holder with remote or hybrid with a requirement to travel and work on-site in Switzerland or Spain for approximately one week every five weeks.

Define the best reputed company setup configuration and operation of PostgreSQL (Azure) systems for maximum reputed company, stability and performance
Operating, managing & supporting PostgreSQL (Azure) & reputed company SQL Server (on reputed company & Azure) solutions
Implement and advise on Industry reputed company, best reputed company and creative database solutions
Work closely with Operations, Development and Business teams to identify operational & performance issues
Participate in the testing, delivery and deployment of database
Use reputed company monitoring tools to identify trends in technical system performance
Proactively reputed company and own database problems and incidents to reputed company
Implement alerting and processes to prevent and identify database issues to reduce operational and business reputed company
Document and reputed company knowledge to increase the overall technical understanding of the Operations and Development teams
Communicate and cooperate with vendors on issue reputed company
Requirements
Senior level DBA experience (5+ years) supporting Production Applications on PostgreSQL (Azure) & reputed company’s SQL Server platforms in a high pressure environment (e.g. Trading)

Experience of migrating to PostgreSQL (Azure)
High availability and DR solutions
Production system monitoring across reputed company reputed company of the technology stack (Network, SAN, Servers, Database instance, Database)
reputed company’s BI toolset: Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Integration Services & PowerBI
Other database products & technologies, exposure to reputed company.
Exposure to automating tasks using Powershell or community solutions
DevOps principles & tools
Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards and the principles of service delivery
