The Keenfinity unit in Ovar belongs to the Building Technologies division and is focused on bringing solutions to the market that are shaping the smart cities of the future. The company develops and produces innovative solutions for security and communication systems, electronic displays, robotic lawn mower & E-bike components. With about 1.200 employees, its success lies in the highly specialized and innovative team and technological know-how.

 

The department Public Address is concerned with the development of hardware and software solutions for the PRAESENSA Public Address and Voice Alarm systems. These systems are high-end, secure, redundant, supervised and used globally in very visible locations like airports, shopping malls, cruise ships and public transportation. The work includes all stages of product development from a feasibility study to final test and release of the product for mass production. This is done with the use of state of the art development methods, tools and components.

Job Description:

Your contribution to something big: 

  • The Group leader of Software Development, directs and coordinates activities of the software engineering group;
  • Responsible for Software Release Train for embedded software;
  • Responsible for career development of direct reports;
  • Responsible for forming an efficient and skilled software team from a recently created team of individuals;
  • Acts as Manager to the software group;
  • Has a hands-on role next to being a manager e.g. as product owner or test architect;
  • Enable the organization to deliver software of all projects on commitment: time, quality and cost;
  • Member of the engineering leadership team;
  • Has around 10 direct reports;
  • Reports to the R&D Director;

 

Key areas of responsibility:

  •  Manages department activities to design, implement, test and maintain software
  • Responsible for planning and tracking, including dependencies with other R&D Disciplines
  • Understands and defends software development cost estimation, ROI
  • Works closely with Business Line and Product Managers to determine R&D priorities and initiatives
  • Estimates personnel needs, recruits and develops top talent

 

Qualifications:

What distinguishes you:

  • Hands-on working experience with software development;
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary product development (HW, FW, SW)
  • Agile/scrum/kanban/SAFe experience with leading, planning, tracking, scrum master;
  • Experience with hybrid waterfall/agile projects;
  • Experience with embedded software;
  • Experienced in leading multi-site technical teams, connecting, inspiring and motivating people;
  • Excellent team leadership skills;
  • Excellent communicator;
  • Willing to travel between company locations and customer locations, including international;
  • Specific knowledge of communications systems is a plus;
  • Experience as product owner or test architect is a plus.
