Senior Snowflake Engineer

SUMMARY

The Senior Snowflake Engineer will be responsible for the design, deployment, optimization, and ongoing operation of Snowflake environments supporting core fund administration platforms, analytics, reporting, and downstream integrations. Additionally, this role partners closely with application development, infrastructure, data, and business teams to ensure scalable, secure, and well governed data solutions that align with regulatory and client requirements in the financial services industry.

 

TECHNOLOGY STACK

  • Snowflake Data Cloud.
  • Microsoft Azure.
  • MS SQL and advanced data modeling techniques.
  • ETL and ELT frameworks and data pipelines.
  • Data governance, security, and access control tooling.
  • BI and analytics platforms consuming Snowflake data.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Designs and maintains Snowflake account architecture, including environments, databases, schemas, roles, and warehouses.
  • Leads and supports Snowflake implementation efforts, migrations, and ongoing platform optimization.
  • Defines data architecture standards, modeling patterns, and best practices for analytics and operational use cases.
  • Implements and maintains security, access controls, and data segregation aligned with regulatory and client requirements.
  • Monitors performance, cost usage, and capacity, and implements optimization strategies as needed.
  • Supports data governance initiatives, including data quality, lineage, and lifecycle management.
  • Develops and maintains documentation for Snowflake architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Serves as the primary Snowflake subject matter expert across the organization.
  • Provides guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to internal teams working with Snowflake.
  • Partners with application development and IT infrastructure teams to design performant, scalable data pipelines, and integrations.
  • Mentors associates through instruction, coaching, providing real-time on-the-job experiences, modeling effective practices, and advising on methods used.

May perform other duties as required and assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in database architecture or data engineering, including designing and operating Snowflake in production and managing largescale Snowflake data migrations.
  • Strong background deploying and maintaining cloud-based data platforms, with exposure to BI, reporting, and advanced analytics use cases on Snowflake.
  • Experience in the financial services industry, ideally supporting fund administration or asset management platforms.

KNOWLEDGE

  • ETL and ELT tools and modern data engineering frameworks.
  • Regulatory and compliance considerations related to financial data.
  • Data security, role-based access control, and auditing.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Adobe Acrobat.
