About this Temporary Opportunity:  

 

  • This is a temporary, contingent position. 

  • The person hired will be employed through a third-party staffing agency.  

  • The target hiring range for this temporary role is $25-$30 per hour and may be modified in the future. 

  • This is a part-time opportunity that we anticipate will begin April 15 and end October 31, 2026.  

 

Where and When You’ll Work 

 

  • This is a remote based opportunity open to all candidates in the US. Preference may be given to candidates located within commuting distance of our New York City office and able to work a hybrid schedule 

  • The anticipated schedule for this role is part-time, up to 25 hours weekly, with variable availability needed Monday – Friday between 9a and 5p Eastern Time 

What You’ll Do 

The Marketing team is seeking a temporary, part-time Marketing Assistant to support the Director, Marketing & Audience Development and the Senior Manager, Brand Marketing. This role provides campaign support, project coordination, and organizational assistance across multiple initiatives. Estimating up to 25 hours per week, hours may vary.  

 

Responsibilities 

Responsibilities are listed in general order of importance. They include but are not limited to:  

 

Campaign Support (approx. 10-15 hours per week) 

  • Assist with compiling campaign assets and messaging, and route materials for review and approval across multiple marketing campaigns  

  • Support the creation of mid-campaign updates and final wrap-up reports in collaboration with marketing leads 

  • Help coordinate focus group setup, including scheduling, logistics, and materials 

  • Support lead-generation campaigns by helping to coordinate project tasks to ensure approvals, drafting emails from provided for user journey workflows to be generated from 

  • Work with the email lead to maintain accurate email distribution lists for key projects by transferring data from Airtable to HubSpot (email service provider), ensuring the team uses the most up-to-date lists for email distribution 

  • Update and maintain data for the public-facing shelter location map on the aspca.org website 

 

Project Management and Coordination Support (approx. 5-10 hours per week) 

  • Assist with scheduling meetings and preparing and/or updating agendas in partnership with marketing team leads 

  • Capture meeting notes, synthesize key takeaways, and distribute clear action items to attendees 

  • Track and monitor campaign timelines and communicate key deadlines and milestones 

 

Additional project support as needed  

  • Provide general marketing support as needed 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills 

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills with the ability to translate information into a meaningful, understandable context and message 

  • Working knowledge of project management; organized and efficient with flexibility to shift priorities when needed 

  • Demonstrated propensity to be creative, collaborative, proactive, and self-motivated in the execution and completion of assigned accountabilities 

  • Solid understanding of integrated marketing campaigns and best practices. Nonprofit campaign experience a plus. 

 

Language: 

  • English  

 

Education and Work Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Marketing or related field required 

  • 3-5 years’ work experience in Marketing or related field 

  • 3+ years’ experience with integrated marketing and paid media plans  

  • Working knowledge of project management tools a plus  

 

Additional Information  

  • Must be a legal resident of the United States and be able to provide proof of authorization to work in the United States.
