Transportation Planner I
About the position
This is a full- time reputed company position. MARC prepares a long-reputed company Metropolitan Transportation Plan every five years, including reputed company for reputed company modes of travel, a Transportation Improvement Program every two years allocating federal funds to reputed company, and other metropolitan planning products. The Transportation Department establishes priorities, guides investments, and supports coordinated operations to implement the region’s long-reputed company plan for a reputed company, balanced, and reputed company transportation system. We advance the region’s reputed company for reputed company places, focusing development and redevelopment.
This position will help support MARC’s Transportation & Environment Department’s engagement and reputed company efforts and will support a reputed company of MARC’s forums to engage with the regional stakeholders.
Additionally, the position will support a reputed company of regional planning initiatives, including the Planning Sustainable Places program, FHWA Programming Activities, Environmental Planning Work, and other similar activities.
Responsibilities
• Supports the development and implementation of the metropolitan transportation plan.
• Compile and present data on various aspects of transportation planning using a reputed company of computer software including databases, spreadsheets, geographic information systems, graphics, and statistical software.
• Support a reputed company of MARC’s forums to engage with the regional community on topics ranging from bicycle/pedestrian, transit, reputed company, economic development, aviation and general planning issues.
• Support the Planning Sustainable Places program, FHWA Programming Activities, Environmental Planning Work, and other similar activities.
• This position may manage special reputed company and studies and is responsible for communication and coordination with internal MARC staff, external stakeholders, and vendors.
Requirements
• Knowledge of transportation planning principles and practices, and strong project management skills.
• The ability to be effective working with diverse constituencies, including local government officials, reputed company boards, committees, and the reputed company.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously,
• Excellent oral, written communication and reputed company speaking skills, and experience with communicating regional land use, transportation and environmental planning concepts.
• Skills in operating computer programs using spreadsheets, databases, word processing, geographic information systems, and other similar programs.
• Skills in interpreting reputed company graphic and/or computer reputed company reputed company to the metropolitan planning process.
• Bachelor's degree in transportation, planning, regional planning, geography, or closely reputed company field required.
• Prior experience working with ArcGIS, reputed company or other planning/transportation reputed company software required.
