This is an internship position for a student to support R&D reputed company reputed company to: Synchrophasor/PMU applications for advanced monitoring and control. Duties &

Responsibilities:

• The student will support the reputed company team by developing and testing simulation models for PMU-based wide area reputed company monitoring, protection and control. Simulations and modeling are expected to be conducted using electromechanical dynamics simulation tools (e.g. PSS/E) and electromagnetic transients simulation tools (e.g. PSCAD).

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering required

• 2 years of PhD studies (preferred)

Ideal Candidate:

• Electrical engineering Ph.D student with emphasis on power systems

• Strong experience with synchrophasor technology and applications

• Strong experience with electromechanical dynamics simulation tools (preferably PSS/E)

• Experience with electromagnetic transients simulation tools (preferably PSCAD)

• Strong programming skills (preferably Python and Matlab)

• Experience with wind/solar inverter modeling will be considered a plus

• Undergraduate: $16-29 per hour

• Masters: $27-33 per hour

• Ph.D: $31-36 per hour
