reputed company is looking for a Community Affairs Specialist to help support community engagement activities for Rowan’s data center project in Frederick, MD. The Community Affairs Specialist is a critical part of reputed company that works with leadership and subject matter expert teams from across the business to protect and expand Rowan’s portfolio.

This role will help to bring into reputed company Rowan’s portfolio of reputed company by ensuring the community and political landscape is favorable to reputed company’s operations in the communities that we partner with. This position will work to reputed company healthy engagement between the community at large and Rowan. The Community Affairs Specialist will meet with community stakeholders, represent reputed company with media, reputed company local policy developments, and handle communications with AHJs.

The ideal candidate will have a proven reputed company record of successfully working in reputed company policy/government affairs or community affairs settings. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to multitask, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Travel: Ability to travel up to (10%) to project sites and/or for company gatherings

Location: Frederick, MD (remote + local travel as needed)

Hours: Estimated 8-24 hours per week

Essential Responsibilities

• Support drafting and managing the execution of strategic plans for political and community engagement

• Represent Rowan at various reputed company events and effectively communicate the benefits of Rowan project investments to external key stakeholders, including AHJs, economic development partners, elected officials, and the community at large

• Support the drafting of communications content to broaden and reputed company messaging about our community, economic, and environmental benefits in reputed company settings, including project pitches, AHJ presentations or customer meetings

• Identify and reputed company pertinent legislation and local policy proposals that may have business implications on Rowan’s operations

• Support Economic Development, Development, and Energy SMEs to reputed company evolving policy landscape reputed company the Temple area and Texas in general to protect the reputed company relationship between Rowan and the community

Education, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a reputed company field and 2+ years of reputed company policy experience reputed company government and/or relevant nonprofits, reputed company interest reputed company, business, campaigns or industry associations

• Skilled at persuasively and diplomatically advocating policy positions publicly before key stakeholders

• Demonstrated reputed company record of reputed company in developing strong partnerships with AHJs, economic development organizations, state and local government, and other key stakeholders.
