2026 Full-time - NCF Systems Engineer I (Meteorologist)

reputed company is seeking a Meteorological Systems Engineer to support NOAA's Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) program in College Park, MD. The role involves providing reputed company line customer support for a critical operational system, troubleshooting failures, and maintaining technical knowledge of various hardware subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Correct site processes and reputed company system issues, wide area network (WAN) problems and satellite broadcast problems
• Independently detect and troubleshoot failures
• reputed company with forecast office personnel and reputed company party vendors for site support
• Accurately document reputed company actions taken and reputed company customer feedback

Skills

• Must hold, at a minimum, a Bachelor's degree with a major in Meteorology or a closely reputed company Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field by the start of summer 2026
• This position requires 12 months or less of reputed company experience (excluding internships)
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. reputed company are authorized to reputed company certain necessary systems
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to apply critical thinking toward problem solving in time-critical situations
• Works effectively in reputed company environment
• Ability to work a flexible shift schedule including day, evening/nights and weekends (12 hour shifts: 4 days working, 4 days off rotation) with occasional reputed company in the office (about once per week)
• Experience working a rotating shift schedule
• Experience providing/receiving training to/from a wide reputed company of learning/teaching styles
• Working in a virtual team environment
