SEO Specialist – Content & Blog Optimization (Remote,)

Job Title : SEO Specialist Contract: 12 months Location: Remote • *POSITION SUMMARY** seeking a detail-oriented SEO Specialist (Contractor) to support the SEO team with a strong emphasis on blog article optimization and on-page SEO execution. This role is focused on improving organic visibility, content performance, and search relevance across blog and educational content. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience optimizing content within HubSpot, conducting keyword research and SEO strategy inputs for writers, implementing on-page SEO and schema markup, identifying structured data opportunities, and supporting off-site SEO efforts related to content promotion and authority building. Interest or experience optimizing content for AI-powered search engines and AI-generated search results is preferred. • *REQUIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES** • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Marketing, Communications, or a related field • 3+ years of SEO experience with a strong focus on content and blog optimization • Hands-on experience executing on-page SEO in a CMS (HubSpot preferred) • Working knowledge of keyword research, search intent, and content optimization • Experience with schema markup and structured data principles • Familiarity with SEO tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, Conductor, SEMrush, Ahrefs) • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as a contractor • *PREFERRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES** • B2B content marketing experience • Blog-focused off-site SEO or content promotion experience • Working understanding of how to optimize content for AI search engines, answer engines, or AI generated results • Familiarity with how structured data, content clarity, and topical authority impact AI visibility • Proficiency in analytics and SEO tools to evaluate blog performance and optimization impact • Experience working with in-house SEO and content teams • *POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES** • Conduct keyword research and topical analysis to support blog article planning and optimization • Deliver clear SEO insights, keywords, and optimization guidance to writers and content stakeholders • Map keywords to search intent and recommend content structure improvements (headings, internal links, topics) • Identify opportunities to refresh, optimize, or consolidate existing blog content • Optimize content directly within HubSpot, ensuring SEO best practices are consistently applied • Assist with blog promotion, link earning, and authority-building initiatives • Collaborate with the SEO Lead to align optimization standards and workflows • *WORKING SCHEDULE** • Part-time contractor role with flexible work schedule within standard business hours (Central time zone) • Role is fully remote, 20 hours per week, and for a period of 12-18 months.
