Duties

• Attending responsibilities for the in Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) team.
• Critical Care consultation in Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU).
• Coordination of patient care among the primary physician, critical care staff and other specialists.
• Performing Critical Care procedures in accordance with Institutional policies.
• Teaching and mentoring medical reputed company, residents, mid-level providers, and fellows.
• Interdisciplinary Treatment Teams, Care Lines/Services and/or committees.
• Ensuring initial and ongoing assessments of patients to identify needs, issues, resources and care goals are provided, in a reputed company manner.
• Monitoring specific clinical activities for compliance with VA policies, assuring that findings are utilized to modify and/or improve their performance and to facilitate the accomplishments of their goals and objectives.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as reputed company as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Basic Requirements:

Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the reputed company for the year in which the course of study was completed.

Licensure: reputed company, full and unrestricted license to reputed company medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the reputed company, or in the District of Columbia.

Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited reputed company training program leading to eligibility for reputed company certification. (NOTE: VA physicians involved in reputed company training programs may be required to be reputed company certified for reputed company status.) Approved residencies are: * Those approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), OR

• Those approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), OR
• Other residencies (non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified reputed company in the reputed company), which the local Medical Staff Executive Committee deems to have provided the applicant with appropriate reputed company training and believes has exposed the physician to an appropriate reputed company of patient care experiences.

Residents currently enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited residency training programs and who would otherwise meet the basic requirements for appointment are eligible to be appointed as "Physician reputed company Providers" (PRPs). PRPs must be fully licensed physicians (i.e., not a training license) and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee-reputed company. PRPs are not considered independent practitioners and will not be privileged; rather, they are to have a "scope of reputed company" that allows them to reputed company certain restricted duties under supervision. Additionally, surgery residents in gap years may also be appointed as PRPs.

English Language Proficiency. In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), no person shall serve in reputed company patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
