Software Application Developer
The California Franchise Tax Board is seeking a Software Application Developer to work independently as a technical specialist responsible for designing, programming, configuring, testing, and supporting complex IT solutions for compliance systems. The role involves troubleshooting complex software problems and maintaining collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with the department’s mission.
Responsibilities
- Designing, programming, configuring, testing, and supporting complex IT solutions for FTB’s compliance systems
- Providing consulting services to application and infrastructure areas
- Troubleshooting complex software problems and assisting with resolution and preventative measures
- Maintaining collaborative relationships with teammates, management, vendors, and stakeholders
Skills
- Experience using Object Oriented Programming (OOP) (Java, .Net, Python, etc.)
- Experience with Java, Jakarta EE Framework, Jakarta Batch, Java Services (SOAP and REST-based), and Web applications
- Experience working with and doing code review through source control such as Azure DevOps, TFVC, and/or GIT
- Experience implementing data structures, working with relational databases and writing structured Query Languages (SQL) queries (SQL Server, T-SQL, ANDI, etc.)
- Experience working as part of a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) team
- Experience building and deploying through CI/CD technologies (Openshift, Azure release pipelines, etc.)
- Knowledge with Franchise Tax Board (FTB) EDR2 programs or Legacy Compliance applications (Audit, Collections) as part of software development lifecycle team
- Knowledge and experience with application servers like JBoss, IBM WebSphere, Microsoft IIS Server
- Experience providing production support for an Enterprise System
- Experience debugging (Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA)
