[Remote] Staff Accountant – Revenue Accounting

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Voltus is a company focused on being the Distributed Energy Platform that supports the energy transition. They are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their Revenue Accounting team, responsible for recording revenue, cost of goods sold, and customer payments in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile revenue and (COGS) transactions in the general ledger
• Process and apply customer payments and investigate discrepancies or unapplied cash
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to revenue and COGS
• Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolve variances
• Support the month-end and quarter-end close process for revenue and related accounts
• Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for revenue-related transactions
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation as needed
• Develop and maintain Excel-based reports and reconciliations to support revenue operations

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• 1-2 years of accounting experience is preferred but will consider entry-level candidates
• Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue-related accounting concepts
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large data manipulation, etc.)
• Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
• Experience with cash application or accounts receivable processes
• Ability to analyze large data sets and identify trends or anomalies
• Experience improving accounting processes and documentation
• Experience using AI finance-related tools a plus
