About the Opportunity
GAMA-1 is seeking a remote Software Developer - Web Applications II to support next-generation environmental data for a federal client serving in a full-stack developer capacity. In this role, you will design and build modern, cloud-based web applications, turning user needs into scalable, high-performing solutions within AWS.
You will develop responsive frontends that integrate with meteorological data services, creating intuitive visualizations for complex datasets. Success in this role comes from strong full-stack experience, collaboration, and the ability to deliver efficient, user-centered solutions.

What You Will Do in This Role
The Software Developer - Web Application II will design and develop scalable, cloud-based web applications that transform complex meteorological data into intuitive, high-performance user experiences while collaborating across teams to deliver reliable, user-centered solutions.
Responsibilities include:
- Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility within time and cost constraints
- Create, manage, and deploy containers to ensure efficient, consistent, and scalable application operations across environments
- Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and stakeholders to define system capabilities, limitations, performance requirements, and interfaces
- Define and establish system performance standards
- Develop and maintain software system testing and validation procedures, along with programming and documentation standards
- Develop and maintain configuration management (CM) processes, plans, policies, SOPs, work instructions, and related documentation
- Architect and implement responsive, intuitive user interfaces for complex meteorological data visualization applications
- Develop interactive mapping and geospatial rendering components for weather data visualization
- Build high-performance visualization tools for meteorological datasets including radar, satellite imagery, and model data
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL services to connect frontend applications with backend data systems
- Optimize web applications for performance across a variety of devices, browsers, and network conditions
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement user-centered design principles in meteorological applications
- Implement automated testing strategies for frontend systems, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Integrate AWS services (CloudFront, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, and others) to deliver scalable frontend solutions
- Ensure accessibility compliance and cross-browser compatibility across all applications
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- 2+ years of full-stack development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js)
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Experience with frontend build tools and module bundlers (Webpack, Rollup, etc.)
- Knowledge of state management solutions (Redux, Mobx, Context API)
- Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services for web application hosting
- Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
- Experience with automated testing frameworks for frontend applications
- Experience leveraging Generative AI development tools to accelerate and assist in the development process.
- Knowledge of best practices in GenAI Prompting, development, and reviewing generated content.
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.

- This work is normally completed in a remote environment.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's and client facilities.
