QUALIFICATIONS: Any person employed as a teacher assistant, must hold one of the following credentials: temporary license, continuing certificate, or Level I, II, III or Para-reputed company certificate. Since February 2, 2004, reputed company teacher assistant candidates are required to take the Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills Tests (ATAS) unless the candidate took and achieved a qualifying score on the Liberal Arts and Sciences Test (LAST) which is a requirement for classroom teacher certification.
