Event & Communications Coordinator

WORK LOCATION:
- Remote, with frequent travel up to 50% of the time
- Must attend in-person team meetings and other assigned events hosted by RHRC.
- Must be willing to travel to industry-relevant events, client locations, and other meetings as needed and upon request.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Background / prior experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, or event coordination.
- One to three years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to execute duties independently using established guidance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, consultants and team members.
- Understanding of graphic design fundamentals and best practices to collaborate effectively and produce visual materials.
- Proficiency with digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and basic design or content creation software.
- Fluent in Microsoft 365, including familiarity with commonly used apps and superior skills in PowerPoint presentation design and development.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive work culture.
- Must have reliable internet and experience working remotely.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently and publicly represent the RHRC with professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with event management platforms such as CVENT
- Experience with Hootsuite, WordPress, Canva, MailChimp, Monday.com or other similar platforms.
- Familiarity with rural health dynamics and/or experience in the non-profit sector.
- Understanding and working knowledge of ADA and Section 508 compliance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role supports the organization’s marketing, external communications, and event functions through onsite event operations and ongoing social media execution. The role carries primary responsibility for onsite event operations in collaboration with the Marketing and Events Manager and supports accurate implementation of planned event details.
Communications & Social Media Responsibilities
- Create social media content on a regular basis aligned with approved messaging and brand standards.
- Schedule and publish posts across RHRC platforms.
- Generate online growth by following platform-specific best practices for engagement and visibility.
- Coordinate social media activity around events and campaigns.
- Assist with the coordination, design, and maintenance of event and print materials.
- Supports graphic design and visualizations for social media, print materials, slide decks, and other public-facing elements.
- Assist with the internal coordination and design of Newsletter content.
Event Operations & Coordination
- Serve as primary onsite operational contact for assigned events.
- Manage on-site registration support, logistics, vendors, dietary accommodations, and attendee needs.
- Assist with the coordination of virtual and hybrid event logistics, including agenda coordination, slide development and design, and Cvent registration and management, and distribution of recordings (as applicable).
- Assist with post-event wrap-up and documentation.
- Assist with the tracking and coordination of representation at industry-relevant events.
Event Systems Support
- Support registration and communications within CVENT.
- Serve as operational backup for event systems.
- Assist with basic reporting and troubleshooting.
Performs other duties as assigned
REPORTS TO: Marketing & Events Manager
WORK STATUS:
- Full-time, 37.5-hour workweek. This is a fully remote position.
SALARY RANGE:
- 60,000 – $70,000 annually

RHRC RECRUITMENT PROCESS:
