We are currently seeking a talented and passionate CAD Engineer specializing in Timing for Transistor-Level Analysis to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis. Position Overview
As a CAD Engineer specializing in Timing for Transistor-Level Analysis at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in defining, implementing, and supporting the methodologies, flows, and tools necessary to verify semiconductor-level circuits in the domains of timing, signal integrity, and circuit verification. You will work closely with both digital and analog design teams to ensure that their designs meet functionality, timing, electrical, power, and signal integrity objectives.

You'll be responsible for developing and building the technology that drives arenaflex's product lineup, enabling our customers to do everything they love with their devices—seamlessly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Design Teams: Work closely with digital and analog designers to understand and debug tool issues and limitations, providing technical solutions that enhance design efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop Analysis Frameworks: Create and maintain scripts, flows, and methodologies for comprehensive semiconductor-level analysis, ensuring robust and repeatable verification processes.
- Drive Verification Efforts: Partner with design teams and CAD organizations to drive timing, power, signal integrity, and functional verification closure efforts, ensuring all project milestones are met.
- Conduct Deep Timing Analysis: Perform in-depth investigation of timing paths to identify critical bottlenecks and optimization opportunities, providing actionable insights to design teams.
- Documentation & Standards: Create comprehensive documentation and assist in developing guidelines and specifications for timing analysis processes and best practices.
- Tool Development: Develop and enhance automation scripts using Perl, Python, TCL, or similar languages to streamline verification workflows and improve team productivity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with multiple teams including design, CAD, and validation to ensure seamless integration of timing closure methodologies.
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant industry experience in semiconductor timing analysis, static timing analysis (STA), or CAD methodology development.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in timing analysis, STA (Static Timing Analysis), CAD tools, and digital design principles.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, TCL, or comparable languages for automation and tool development.
- Semiconductor Tools Expertise: Familiarity with semiconductor-level verification tools such as NanoTime, PathMill, or HSPICE is highly desirable.
- Custom Circuit Design Knowledge: Understanding of digital custom circuit designs including dynamic circuit techniques, memory designs, along with Verilog models and netlists.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience with advanced process nodes (7nm, 5nm, 3nm)
- Knowledge of low-power design techniques and analysis
- Familiarity with EDA vendor tools from vendors such as Synopsys, Cadence, or Mentor Graphics
- Experience in memory compiler design or standard cell library characterization
- Understanding of signal integrity analysis including noise, crosstalk, and electromigration
