Position Overview: Customer Service Associate
As a Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you will be the frontline ambassador of our brand. You'll play a crucial role in creating memorable, positive experiences for every customer who walks through our doors. Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Customer Service Associate will be diverse and engaging. Here's what you can expect:
- Delivering Outstanding Customer Experience: Greet every customer with a warm smile and friendly demeanor. Take the time to understand their needs, answer their questions, and provide personalized assistance. Your goal is to ensure every customer leaves feeling satisfied and valued.
- Register Operations: Operate the sales register with accuracy and efficiency. Process customer purchases, handle cash transactions, make correct change, and process voids, returns, exchanges, and refunds as needed. Maintain precision and attention to detail in all financial transactions.
- Product Recommendations: Suggest complementary items and upsell products to enhance the customer's shopping experience. Use your product knowledge to recommend solutions that meet their needs and provide excellent value.
- Issue Resolution: Address customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally. Listen actively, empathize with their situation, and find effective solutions that turn a potentially negative experience into a positive one.
- Store Environment Maintenance: Keep counters, shelves, and displays clean, organized, and well-merchandised. Ensure the store maintains a welcoming and professional appearance at all times, both inside and outside.
- Inventory Management: Assist with receiving shipments, checking in stock, and pricing items accurately. Participate in inventory counts and rotations as directed. Apply FIFO (First In, First Out) methods for perishable items to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
- Food Handling and Merchandising: Follow proper food safety protocols, including separating raw foods from ready-to-eat items. Assist with product positioning according to company guidelines and procedures.
- Display and Promotion Management: Set up and maintain eye-catching displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and updates as directed by management to keep the store fresh and engaging.
- Asset Protection: Implement loss prevention strategies to identify and minimize shrink. Remain vigilant in preventing theft and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all state and local laws regarding controlled products, including alcohol and tobacco. Maintain proper documentation and follow all compliance protocols.
- Photo Department Support: Provide assistance in the photo area, including digital passport photo services, banner printing, and creative machine operations. Offer special photo products and services to customers.
- Online Order Fulfillment: Handle web order responsibilities, including screening orders in the system, picking items from shelves, and delivering orders to customers as they arrive at the store.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with fellow team members, support management initiatives, and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment. Follow all company policies and procedures while maintaining respectful relationships with colleagues.
- Additional Duties: Complete special projects and other tasks as assigned by management. Be flexible and willing to take on new responsibilities as needed to support the store's success.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Language Skills: Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Exception: Puerto Rico locations may have additional language requirements.)
- Availability: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Retail environments operate around the clock, and we need team members who can adapt to varying shifts.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously with customers and colleagues.
- Customer Focus: Genuine desire to help customers and create positive experiences. Strong problem-solving abilities and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry moderate loads, and perform repetitive tasks. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail customer service role (minimum 6 months preferred).
- Prior experience working with arenaflex or in a similar pharmacy/retail environment.
- Familiarity with store operations, point-of-sale systems, and inventory management.
- Knowledge of products and services offered in a retail pharmacy setting.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and confidently.
