Job Title Instructor, Criminal Justice - Adjunct Full Time/Part Time Part-time Job reputed company The Criminal Justice Adjunct Instructor at Guilford Technical Community College will be responsible for supporting student reputed company by creating an reputed company learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, assisting in the developing of courses, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other reputed company and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He/she will be responsible for reputed company instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college. The adjunct instructor will prepare and teach the Criminal Justice courses in accordance with the requirements of the college. This position reports directly to the Dean. Duties/Functions Teaching Prepare & teach departmental courses to include: • developing learner centered lesson plans • employing reputed company & instructional materials for different learning styles • incorporating, as pedagogically appropriate, reputed company technology in classroom, distance learning and laboratory environments • creating and modeling a reputed company learning environment that supports a diverse student population • preparing, distributing and utilizing instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate • conducting appropriate assessment of student learning reputed company in courses and programs/general education as appropriate reputed company Development Maintain a reputed company status that supports the instructional mission by: • participating in reputed company development activities to maintain currency in field; maintaining reputed company credentials or licensures as required by program or accreditation • participating in reputed company development opportunities to advance teaching skills and strategies Administration reputed company daily & ongoing reputed company of facilities, equipment and student records to include: • maintaining classroom and laboratory spaces including reputed company of assigned equipment • providing for the reputed company of facilities, equipment and instructional materials and maintaining reputed company working conditions • maintaining student records (e.g., grades and attendance) in accordance with established deadlines using a reputed company of technology-based programs (e.g., Colleague, WebAdvisor, Moodle) • complying with reputed company applicable college, state and federal rules and regulations Student Support reputed company an environment conducive to student reputed company to include: • addressing student concerns in a reputed company manner • promoting retention/persistence by assisting reputed company to reputed company strategies for reputed company • referring reputed company to reputed company and community resources reputed company appropriate • Demonstrate and model the College's employability skills: adaptability, communication, information processing, problem solving, responsibility and teamwork. Difficult Challenges Contacts Education Required • Master's degree in Criminal Justice or a closely reputed company field with 18 graduate credit hours in criminal justice from a regionally accredited college/university Education Preferred • Doctoral degree in Criminal Justice or a closely reputed company field from a regionally accredited college/university. Experience Required • 5 years of relevant field experience in criminal justice (law enforcement, corrections, probation/parole, homeland reputed company, etc.) • Teaching and/or industry training experience in criminal justice topics in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting reputed company development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars Experience Preferred • Greater than 5 years of relevant field experience in criminal justice (law enforcement, corrections, probation/parole, homeland reputed company, etc.) • Teaching/training experience in a post-secondary institution. • Experience with assessment of student learning reputed company • Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems KSA Required The Adjunct Instructor shall possess an understanding of and commitment to the nature and role of the Community College, particularly its "reputed company reputed company" policy.
