We're committed to building a world-class data platform that enables us to make data-driven decisions and drive business growth. **The Data Platform Team** Our data platform teams are responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our data-driven decision-making. We're a collaborative and dynamic team that's passionate about distributed systems, data engineering, and cloud computing. We're committed to building a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning. **Focus Areas** We're looking for talented engineers to join our team in the following focus areas: * **Database Access Stage**: We're building a scalable and highly available database access layer that enables our microservices to store, consume, and manage their data efficiently. This team is responsible for designing and implementing a flexible query interface that works at sub-millisecond latencies. * **Data Stage Foundation**: Our data stage foundation team provides a platform for our own data platforms. We're building a common framework and tooling that enables us to rapidly develop and deploy cutting-edge data and analytics platforms without building custom infrastructure for each new platform. * **Big Data Figure**: We're responsible for building the cloud-native stage for distributed data processing at arenaflex. This team is critical to batch data processing in Data Stage and provides support for Flash, ETL data into the Petabytes-scale data warehouse, and access that data using Flash and Voila/TrinoDB. * **Big Data Arrangement**: We offer a platform for planning, organizing, and executing big data jobs and workflows in a self-serve way. These stages include basic services that have all ETL and ML responsibilities running on Big Data Frameworks at arenaflex. **Responsibilities** As a Distributed Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for: * Designing and building scalable, highly available, and distributed systems that power our data platform * Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and TPMs, to drive business outcomes * Architecting and building strong, flexible, and highly accessible distributed foundations * Driving innovation and experimentation in distributed systems, data engineering, and cloud computing * Contributing to open-source projects and adding to arenaflex's OSS contributions * Mentoring and guiding junior engineers to develop their skills and expertise **Requirements** To be successful in this role, you'll need: * 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems features or applications * Strong skills in designing and developing soothing web services * Experience in building and working with adaptable, fault-tolerant, and distributed systems * Knowledge of Java or other object-oriented programming languages * Ability to handle multi-threading and concurrency challenges * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field **What We Offer** At arenaflex, we offer a dynamic and inclusive work environment that's passionate about innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning.
