Events & Venue Compliance Coordinator
<p>Job Description<br /> This is a remote position.</p> <p>An independent distillery, bar and events company, is seeking an Events & Venue Compliance Coordinator to join their existing team. This role is based in South Africa, with a focus on UK finance to manage the financial requirements across the entire company. This is a remote, part-time role specialising in UK compliance.</p> <p>The Events and Venue Compliance Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth, legal, and safe operation of events and bar services. This role is responsible for managing compliance with all relevant UK licensing, health & safety, and public liability requirements, while also supporting and enhancing delivery and customer experience across all our events and venues.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Event & Venue Operations</p> <p>Coordinate the planning and execution in line with client specifications and legal requirements for the events and the venues.</p> <p>Liaise with the senior on-site duty manager, ensuring smooth operation and appropriate response to incidents.</p> <p>Liaise with local authorities, licensing officers, and emergency services where appropriate.</p> <p>Ensure all H&S and Safety files for events and venues are up to date and distributed correctly as per requirements.</p> <p>Licensing and Legal Compliance</p> <p>Ensure the venue complies with the Licensing Act 2003, including operating within permitted hours, upholding licensing objectives, and supervising the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) obligations.</p> <p>Maintain and manage incident logs, refusals registers, and staff training records as required by local licensing authorities.</p> <p>Ensure Temporary Event Notices (TENs) and any relevant permissions are filed and approved in advance of events.</p> <p>Health & Safety / Risk Management</p> <p>Conduct routine venue inspections and risk assessments to ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant regulations.</p> <p>Develop and implement fire safety, crowd control, and evacuation procedures.</p> <p>Maintain documentation for all health & safety audits, equipment checks, and training activities</p> <p>Team Management & Training</p> <p>Develop training plans and processes and coordinate mandatory training for staff, including alcohol licensing awareness, first aid, fire marshal duties, manual handling, and more across both the events and venues.</p> <p>Monitor staff certification and renewals: SIA badges, First Aid</p> <p>Security and Incident Reporting</p> <p>Ensure that serious incidents: injuries, fights, lost property, safeguarding concerns) are received from the event staff and stored electronically</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Essential:</p> <p>Experience in a similar role within licensed venues, bars, nightclubs, or event spaces.</p> <p>Working knowledge of UK alcohol licensing laws and health and safety regulations.</p> <p>Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.</p> <p>Desirable:</p> <p>Experience liaising with councils and regulatory authorities</p> <p>Relevant qualifications</p> <p>Benefits<br /> Remote Role</p>
