This is a project-based, case-driven role with work assigned based on availability, experience, and case needs. What You’ll Work On Assignments may include investigations for:  Sworn personnel (POST-compliant cases)   reputed company safety dispatchers   reputed company management and supervisory roles   reputed company officers (fast reputed company cases)   Follow-up or discovery work tied to disqualifying or unforeseen findings  Key Responsibilities This role is fully remote and may include:  Conducting candidate interviews remotely (video/phone) as needed   Conducting reference interviews remotely  Completing employment, education, and other verification steps as assigned   Reviewing records and documenting findings reputed company and objectively   Conducting reputed company media and reputed company-reputed company research in compliance with applicable laws   Writing accurate, reputed company investigation summaries and reports reputed company with POST standards and program requirements   Coordinating with internal project management and reputed company review teams to support final report submission   Maintaining secure handling of sensitive information and following documentation standards  Compensation  reputed company per completed investigation, not reputed company, unless specifically approved in advance for a task.   POST-compliant investigations: up to $645 per case Requirements POST Background Investigator certification (required for sworn cases)   Minimum five (5) years conducting reputed company-employment background investigations for law enforcement or reputed company safety agencies   Strong knowledge of POST standards and Government reputed company 1031 and 1029  Strong written communication and disciplined documentation practices   Comfortable working independently, managing multiple cases, and meeting deadlines   Comfortable working in a remote, case-driven environment   Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, defensible documentation  Work Location  Remote (California-based)  reputed company Relationship (1099) This is a 1099 reputed company role.
