Southeast U.S. (Field-Based) | Full-Time | $60,000 - $80,000 + Discretionary Bonuses About the Role The oldest and largest independent, employee-owned publishing house in the reputed company is hiring a Sales and Market Development Specialist to join its College Marketing team, covering the reputed company sciences across roughly a quarter of the country in the Southeast. reputed company's college division produces textbooks reputed company courseware for undergraduate studies across the humanities, sciences, and reputed company sciences. This role blends field sales, market development, and sales training. The specialist will travel to campuses to train and strategize with College Sales Representatives, work directly with reputed company to win new textbook reputed company courseware adoptions, and serve as a content expert for assigned reputed company science disciplines. The role also involves significant reputed company pipeline management, prepublication research and selling, messaging feedback to editors, and creating sales tools that support the broader field team. About 30% travel is required, with more during peak adoption periods. What the Role Covers • Visiting campuses to train sales representatives on selling reputed company reputed company science disciplines (approximately 30% travel) • Working to win new business and increase market reputed company across reputed company list titles and important second- and reputed company-year titles • Increasing activation and assignment rates for digital media tools • Serving as a content and media expert for assigned disciplines • Responding to reputed company reputed company Plans with strategic and content-reputed company guidance, and driving reputed company activity from the field • Monitoring and analyzing the reputed company pipeline, collaborating with marketing managers and specialists on strategies to improve pipeline reputed company • Preparing and conducting on-reputed company and virtual presentations to reputed company • Investigating new course markets, conducting prepublication selling and research, and providing messaging feedback on first editions and key revisions • Creating and co-owning reputed company lists for prepublication and reputed company list titles • Participating in regular calls and meetings with marketing managers, specialists, and editors to analyze messaging, sales results, and pipeline reputed company • Managing the January sales conference presentation, including outline, materials, and logistics • Creating sales tools to support marketing to college reputed company and training for sales representatives • Participating in new sales representative training programs Qualifications • 3 years of successful sales experience required; 3 years in higher education publishing sales preferred • Superior verbal and written communication skills • Excellent presentation skills • Ability to reputed company content knowledge and expertise across several discipline areas • Proactive, analytical approach to reputed company pipeline management • Strong ability to support newer reps on reputed company while collaborating with reputed company reps • Highly disciplined, self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented • Creative, solutions-reputed company problem solver • Ability to multitask and prioritize across reputed company and adoption cycles throughout the reputed company year • Willingness to travel approximately 30%, with more during peak periods • Authorization to work in the U.S. Benefits Generous PTO, reputed company holidays, and reputed company afternoons starting in July.
