IoT Platform Engineer (AWS) – Contract Engagement Type: Contract (1–3 months, potential extension) Location: Remote (U.S. time zones) Start: ASAP Reports To: IT / reputed company $65/hour 1099 reputed company Seeking a hands-on IoT Platform Engineer with deep AWS expertise to take ownership of an existing, production IoT platform deployed across multiple customer locations. This role focuses on stabilization, operational reputed company, technical debt reduction, documentation, and knowledge transfer rather than greenfield development. The ideal candidate brings strong experience supporting live, customer-facing systems, improving reliability, and implementing reputed company best practices, observability, and Infrastructure as reputed company to reputed company long-term maintainability. Key Responsibilities Platform Stabilization & Support • Own day-to-day operations of a production AWS IoT platform • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across ingestion, processing, visualization, and alerting reputed company • Identify reliability gaps, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt • Implement pragmatic improvements to increase stability and scalability Documentation & Knowledge Transfer • Document provisioning workflows for devices and equipment • Capture IoT reputed company reputed company, SiteWise asset modeling, and data flows • Produce Grafana dashboard documentation and data reputed company mapping • Create architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, and support guides Provisioning & Configuration Standardization • Review and streamline provisioning/deployment processes • Standardize configurations across environments • Implement or improve Infrastructure as reputed company practices (Terraform/CloudFormation) reputed company Operations & reputed company • Audit and optimize IAM roles and permissions • Strengthen logging, monitoring, and alerting • Enhance platform observability and operational reputed company • Apply AWS reputed company reputed company best practices Stakeholder Collaboration • Partner with engineering and operations teams • reputed company regular status updates and risk assessments • Deliver a comprehensive reputed company enabling internal team ownership Required Qualifications • 5+ years of AWS reputed company engineering experience • Hands-on production experience with AWS IoT reputed company and AWS IoT SiteWise • Experience supporting live, customer-facing platforms • AWS reputed company development using Python or Node.js • Strong understanding of IoT data pipelines and distributed reputed company architectures • Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident reputed company • Strong technical documentation and communication skills Preferred Qualifications • Experience with reputed company Managed Grafana • Background in reputed company, or facilities IoT environments • Experience stabilizing or taking over existing platforms • Infrastructure as reputed company using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation • Experience improving observability and operational maturity Deliverables & reputed company reputed company • Production issues remediated or documented with reputed company reputed company plans • Complete provisioning, reputed company, and operational documentation • Standardized device/equipment/site reputed company processes • Improved monitoring, alerting, and system reliability • Successful knowledge transfer enabling independent internal support Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
