With a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, we believe that every individual deserves access to compassionate and expert support. **Overview of the Role** As a Crisis Counselor at arenaflex, you will work from home, maintaining HIPAA compliance and focus, requiring a private office space. You will be responsible for speaking with consumers over the phone, connecting with people experiencing emotional distress or mental health issues. Your key responsibilities will include: * Building rapport and client engagement * Assessing and mitigating risk, and managing documentation while on calls * Providing available resources or information needed * Identifying safe, positive ways of coping and/or developing a safety plan * Emergency intervention that may be needed * Remaining calm and professional while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment **Key Responsibilities:** * Respond to crisis calls and texts from individuals in need of support * Conduct thorough assessments to identify the nature of the crisis and provide appropriate interventions * Develop and implement crisis plans to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in crisis * Collaborate with other crisis counselors and support staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination * Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all interactions with clients * Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge **Essential Qualifications:** * Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year accredited college or university * 1 year of experience in 988 chat and text support or a related field * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment * Proficiency in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information **Preferred Qualifications:** * Master's Degree in a related field (e.g., counseling, social work, psychology) * Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and other complex needs * Certification in crisis intervention, such as QPR or ASIST * Bilingual or multilingual skills **Skills and Competencies:** * Strong emotional intelligence and empathy * Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Proficiency in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques * Strong knowledge of mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and other complex needs **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits:** * arenaflex is committed to the growth and development of our team members.
